Brenton Charnley, Chief Commercial Officer – Flamingo Ventures Pty Ltd
Brenton is an innovation, strategy and operations specialist passionate about making ideas happen. Brenton has over 12 years’ experience helping entrepreneurs, teams and executives embrace new ways of thinking and doing business. To demonstrate this, Brenton was identified as one of Australia's top 50 emerging leaders by the AFR and University of Sydney in 2012.
Brenton is currently the Chief Commercial Officer at Flamingo Customer Experience Inc. Based in NYC and Sydney, Flamingo is an Enterprise SaaS company in the emerging Conversational Commerce field providing a Cognitive Virtual Assistant (AI) platform called 'Rosie' designed for selling financial products online. Flamingo is a subsidiary of ASX listed company Cre8tek Ltd.
Brenton is also the Founder of Insurtech Sydney, a progressive organisation whose focus is to harness technology, share ideas, network and drive collaboration and innovation within the insurance ecosystem in Australia.
Previously, Brenton was Head of Innovation at MetLife Insurance Australia where he was responsible for embedding innovation within the organisation and driving improvement of MetLife’s customer experience journey and new products. Prior to this, Brenton spent 8 years' with KPMG Australia, most recently as an Innovation Manger. During this time, Brenton was the global program manager for elevate61, KPMG's start-up accelerator, assisted companies and government organisations with innovation strategies and worked closely with startups on their growth trajectory through broad business advice. Brenton also managed large scale projects including; Shaping the Future of South Australia and the Unlocking Capital for Jobs Program.
Brenton is a recovering tax advisor, a qualified Chartered Accountant, holds degrees from the University of South Australia, and has studied innovation at both Stanford University and the University of Oxford. Brenton is also a qualified snowboard instructor, career coach and previously a university tutor.
