Policy Briefing: 2019 FSC Policy Priorities

General Session

Each year the FSC’s Director of Policy, Allan Hansell, and the policy team invites FSC members to a session outlining the year’s policy priorities.

Given the size of the financial services industry, the contribution it makes to the Australian economy, and its role in managing the nation’s savings – the FSC has outlined a set of policy priorities which are critical to the continued growth of the sector and health of the wider economy.

Alongside the key priorities, Allan and the team provide a brief overview of each of the policy streams the FSC represents, including and the main policy issues currently being addressed.

The FSC’s Priority Principles for 2019 include:

  1. Public policy development
  2. Consumer Outcomes
  3. Economic Growth
  4. Global Competitiveness
  5. Financial Services Industry Growth
  6. Financial Services Industry Standards
