Ashton leads TAL’s $1.8bn investments and superannuation business managing a team of 10 product and actuarial specialists.
Ashton’s team is focused on expanding TAL’s protection proposition into new savings and retirement segments to realise TAL’s vision of being Australia's leading diversified insurance provider.
Ashton has over 10 years of industry experience, previously working at Macquarie Group and Deloitte across a range of roles in risk, compliance, wealth management and superannuation product.
In 2018, Ashton was awarded the FSC's Young Leader of the Year Award and writes regularly on Fintech, innovation and disruption in financial services.
Nathalie Van Neuten | Director | PwC
Nathalie is a Director at PwC Australia. She is also the co-leader of the emerging technology solutions practice, which includes helping clients successfully and safely implement new and emerging technologies (such as RPA and AI) into their environment as well as digitising PwC.
Nathalie has more than 12 years experience in delivering assurance and advisory services to clients across a range of industries both in Australia and internationally.
She helps her clients effectively govern, control and improve their business and delivers confidence and insight to both Boards and senior management.
Simon Hicks | Cognitive Artificial Intelligence and Business Development Director | IPsoft
Simon is an AI convert who is passionate about the role that technology can play in changing the way humans live, work and play every day.
Starting out his career in banking and finance in London, Simon worked in Enterprise and Corporate currency market sales, before heading to Australia in 2011. Living in Sydney, Simon has held positions at Australian fin-techsuper stars, OFX and Flamingo.ai. where he has seen the good, the bad and the ugly side of working in start-ups and building business from the ground up.
In a world filled with technology, it is important to remember what it is that makes us human. Outside of work, Simon enjoys the great outdoors, reading, cooking and exploring Australia.
Dan Canham | Head of Accelerator, Technology & Innovation Division | TAL
Dan currently heads the innovation accelerator at TAL. TAL’s flagship accelerator program brings cross-functional teams together to fast-track ideas to market using Human Centred Design, Agile Delivery and extensive testing with customers through TAL’s experience lab.
Prior to joining TAL, Dan was Head of Brand at Samsung Electronics Australia. During this tenure Dan lived in South Korea for a year and worked in the Samsung Global Marketing and Innovation Centre, leading global brand strategy and marketing innovation projects. After five years with Samsung, Dan joined the Beanstalk Factory – an innovation consultancy firm that helps large organisations innovate. Dan also worked briefly as an intrapreneur at IAG, responsible for launching new innovative and disruptive products.
