Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, TAL Group

Brett Clark joined the FSC Board as a Director on the 1st December 2015 and co-chairs the Life Board Committee. Brett is the Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the TAL Group and prior to that was responsible for running several of TALs businesses - TAL Life Australia and TAL Retail Life. Brett holds a number of directorships in addition to his FSC role, including TAL Dai-ichi Life Australia Pty Limited, TAL Life Limited and TAL Superannuation Limited. Over his career of more than 20 years, Brett has deep financial services experience across life insurance, wealth management and consulting. Before joining TAL, Brett held senior positions with American International Assurance (AIA) Australia and Watson Wyatt. Brett holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne; is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia; and is a graduate of the INSEAD Advanced Management Program.

Head of Australia & New Zealand, UBS Asset Management

Bryce Doherty was appointed Head of UBS Asset Management in Australia & New Zealand in September 2013. Bryce has responsibility for the management and strategic development of UBS’s Institutional and Wholesale business in Australia and New Zealand, and he reports to René Buehlmann, Head of Asset Management, Asia Pacific. Bryce was previously Head of Wholesale for Australia and New Zealand, with responsibility for growing the business across advice dealer groups and financial advisers. He joined UBS in May 2011, and prior to this, was the Head of Wholesale at BT Investment Management in Australia – where he worked for 6 years. Bryce has 23 years of investment industry experience and has held various roles within the Australian finance industry including; Treasury Analyst, Investment Writer, Communications Manager and Business Development Manager.

Chief Executive Officer for AllianceBernstein (AB) Australia

Jen Driscoll was appointed CEO in December 2013 and is responsible for the execution of strategic priorities for the local business and compliance with governance and corporate policies. Jen joined AB in New York in 1997, servicing large institutional clients in the Northeast region of the US. In January 2000, she relocated to London for three years to open the firm’s London office, where she was responsible for developing and managing the Client and Consultant Relations team. Jen then joined the Sydney office in July 2004 as manager of Client Relations.  Jen also holds a BA, with honors, in economics and political science from Fordham University.

Managing Director - Australasia, Aberdeen Standard Investments Australia Limited

Brett Jollie is Managing Director of Aberdeen Standard Investments Australia Limited in Australasia. In this role, he oversees the corporate direction of the business and is responsible for ensuring all business functions work effectively and cohesively in achieving the Group’s strategic goals. Prior to Aberdeen’s merger with Standard Life in August 2017, Brett was Managing Director of Aberdeen Asset Management in Australia. Brett has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined Aberdeen in 2000 and has held roles in operations, product management, sales and marketing in Australia and the UK. Before joining Aberdeen, he worked for EquitiLink, Chase Manhattan Bank and Permanent Trustee Limited. Brett is a Director of the Financial Services Council (FSC) , co-chairs the FSC’s Investment Board Committee and is a member of the FSC's Standards Oversight Disciplinary Board Committee. He is also a Councillor of the Australian British Chamber of Commerce. Brett holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Macquarie University and Graduate Diplomas in Applied Finance and Investment, and Financial Planning, from the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA). He is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Chief Executive Officer & Director, AIA Australia Limited

Damien Mu is an FSC Director and Chief Executive Officer & Director of AIA Australia and Co-chairs the Life Insurance Board Committee. Damien Mu has more than 18 years’ experience in the Australian financial services industry, with management experience spanning operations, claims and underwriting, superannuation, investments, distribution, product, pricing and marketing. Damien’s career at AIA Australia began in April 2007. Over that time he has held various roles, including Head of Group Insurance, Chief Distribution and Marketing Officer and General Manager - Life Insurance. On 1 August 2014, Damien was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer. In 2014 the company launched AIA Vitality a world leading health and wellness program to the Australian market and in July 2016, AIA New Zealand was added to his responsibilities. In July 2017 the organisation launched myOwn health, a new health insurance business. Damien is also a director of AIA Australia, AIA Financial Services Limited, Financial Services Council (FSC), Co-Chair of the Life Board Committee and Advisory Board member of the Shared Value Project. In June 2017, Damien was appointed a Board Member of MO Health Pty Ltd.

Head of Wealth Management and CEO, Sandhurst Trustees, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank

Paul is Head of Wealth Management and CEO Sandhurst Trustees, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank. Paul is a financial services professional with experience exceeding twenty five years. Paul’s career commenced in a superannuation operational role and for 15 years he worked in management and IT consultancy roles with a focus on strategy formulation, process improvement project/program management and systems integration. During this time Paul worked across multiple geographies including Australia, New Zealand, China, Indonesia, Korea, Japan and Thailand. More recently Paul held senior management roles with IOOF and TAL in Melbourne. Paul joined the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank in February 2011, taking up the CEO of Sandhurst Trustees role which involved moving to Bendigo. In January 2016, Paul was appointed as the Head of Wealth Management covering the group’s Superannuation, Funds Management, Financial Advice, Life Insurance and Trustee Services activities. Wealth is part of the group’s Partner Connection division. Paul holds a BSc (Mathematics), DipSM (Diploma of Superannuation Management) and a MBA (Executive) from AGSM.

Chief Financial Officer for Challenger Limited

Andrew is the Chief Financial Officer for Challenger Limited. Andrew Tobin joined Challenger in 2007 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in February 2012. In this role he is responsible for Challenger's Business Services division which comprises a number of group operational areas including finance, investor relations, treasury, operations and information technology. Prior to this role he was the group's Deputy Chief Financial Officer. After originally training as a chartered accountant with KPMG, Andrew has spent more than 25 years in the banking, insurance and wealth management industries in Australia and Asia. He was previously the General Manager, Finance for the Premium Business Services division of CBA and has also held senior roles for National Australia Bank and Lend Lease Group.

General Manager, BT Platforms, Investments & Operations

Kathy is the General Manager, BT Platforms, Investments & Operations. Kathy Vincent is BT’s General Manager for Platforms, Investments & Operations. In this role Kathy is responsible for leading BT’s retail platforms (BT Panorama, BT Wrap and Asgard) as well as BT’s investments & operations businesses. Prior to joining BT in July 2018, Kathy was General Manager, Wealth Products and Platforms at NAB where she was responsible for the leadership and management of the retail super and investments platform, as well as NAB’s Asset Management Product Team. Previous roles include Co-Head of Macquarie’s alternatives business and Head of Product Strategy for Macquarie Group’s Global Investments business. Kathy has 25 years’ experience in financial services with specialist expertise in retail platforms, product strategy and distribution. Kathy has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.

Chief Executive Officer for AMP Australia

Alex is the Chief Executive Officer for AMP Australia. Before joining AMP, Alex Wade was most recently the Head of Developed and Emerging Asia for Credit Suisse Private Banking. In these roles, Alex had responsibility for all aspects of the domestic Private Banking businesses for Australia, Japan and India, with additional responsibility for the offshore markets of non-resident Indians, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Alex was with Credit Suisse for 12 years, six of which he was Chief of Staff for Asia Pacific. He also held the roles of Deputy Market Area Head for Developed Asia from 2014 to 2015 and CEO of Credit Suisse Private Banking Australia from 2016 to 2018. During his time at Credit Suisse, Alex developed a strong track record in building and leading businesses as well as driving a wide range of business development activities.

Chief Executive Officer and Pacific Zone Leader, Mercer

Ben is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for Mercer across Australia and New Zealand.  Ben is also Chief Country Officer of Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) incorporating Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer, Oliver Wyman and NERA in Australia.  Previous experience includes more than 20 years in a variety of local and regional roles, as well as international positions in the UK, USA and India. He is a Director of five Mercer Boards including the Trustee of the Mercer Master Trust, and is also Chair of Pillar Australia, effective December 2016. Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours (University of Melbourne) and a Master of Business Administration (Melbourne Business School). He is also a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
