Aidan Johnson is the Policy Manager, Superannuation at the Financial Services Council (FSC).
Aidan boasts an extensive background in shaping policy across diverse realms, spanning federal government budget policy and prudential regulation policy. Commencing his professional journey at the Commonwealth Department of Finance, Aidan adeptly advised the Government on budget proposals. Subsequently, he transitioned to a pivotal role at APRA, where his focus shifted to crafting policies for the regulation of superannuation.
Aidan spearheaded crucial initiatives at APRA, notably contributing to the refinement of investment governance regulations, introducing robust valuation practices within the industry. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in enhancing operational risk financial requirements, effectively addressing resource inefficiencies highlighted by industry. Throughout these endeavors, Aidan collaborated with various Government and industry stakeholders, championing policies that not only mitigated risks but also alleviated burdens within the sector.
Aidan holds Bachelor's degrees in Finance with a concentration in Economics, and Commerce with a focus in Accounting. Aidan is also a Chartered Accountant.
